LANGLEE could soon be alive with the sound of music.

Residents on the Galashiels housing estate have announced plans to form their own community choir.

And so far they have signed up 15 fine voices for the harmonious group.

It followed an idea put forward following a survey of local residents.

The choir is expected to make its first public performance at this year's Langlee Carnival in September.

The first meeting of the new choir will be held at Langlee Community Centre on Monday, March 5, at 7pm. New members are welcome.
