Melrose is blooming marvellous

SCOTTISH Borders Council this week held a Civic Reception in recognition of the achievements of Melrose in Bloom over the last 10 years.

SBC Convenor Alasdair Hutton and Leader David Parker were joined by representatives of Melrose in Bloom along with Melrose Community Council and key staff from SBC at the reception which was held in the Ormiston Institute in Melrose.

Councillor Alasdair Hutton, Convenor of SBC, said: "Melrose in Bloom will represent the Scottish Borders in Beautiful Britain in Bloom during 2012 and they have shown what a community can do when it cares and can motivate its citizens to come together to help make it a beautiful place."
