POLICE are calling on the public for help after thieves attempted to steal a phone box in the Borders.

Two men were seen pushing over the telephone kiosk and unsuccessfully attempting to load it onto the back of a white Transit style van near Coldingham. The bungled raid took place on Monday around 4.15pm.

Anyone with information is asked to contact their local police station or the free and confidential Crimestoppers number: 0800 555 111.
